AUGUST PROJECT PAN | THE RESULTS

Please read my original blog post on doing Project Pan. There you will find the details of every item I included to save me boring you all by posting the links etc yet again.

I had 9 items in my PP altogether.

I used 5 of the items in the end. I even cut the tube of Rimmel primer to make sure I get every last drop because I like it that much!

I knew I was ambitious to include 2 body butters. I did use this one a couple of times but I have not even made a dent in it so no chance to finish it.
The eye primer , I am not sure how much is left but still seems quite a bit so I think that I think it will be a while yet anyway.
Lastly I don't think the Rimmel mascara will be long. It is starting to go on a little clumpy so actually I think it could end up in the bin very soon. The Benefit one only got used  a couple of times & is still OK for a while yet.

Overall I was pleased how much I did use up. I was not sure how much products I do use over the course of the month so was expecting to maybe use up 2 things only over that time. To get 5 in the bin is great. To know others will be gone soon too is even better. So i actually class this as a success.

I am going to continue to use up these other items over the course of the next month but will probably wait until October to record another Project Pan in which I will include some make-up too i think.

Thanks for reading this. Have you done a project pan? How well did you do?

Coming Up In September

For September I thought I would have a go at doing a photo a day. I am not sure yet what the photos will be. Some will be just day to day stuff. I am sure the boys will feature somewhere. I will probably include haul or beauty related photos too.

I generally only like to post once a day ( 7 days a week if I can but family means not always possible even if i do plan loads in advance) but through this month you may find I post 2 especially when doing my favourites or If i have another product empties post because I like to give a mini review on the stuff I post about where I can.

I am hoping now the children are heading back to school I can find things to post that are not always beauty related as this blog was never made to just be about that. However it is my biggest interest these days besides my 2 boys ( 3 if you include Rob too!)

Coming up tomorrow - the results of my Project Pan!

Thanks Amanda x

Outfit for my brothers birthday party.

Skinnies - H&M

The top did come with a scarf but I was too hot to bother with it. They do it in a couple of other colour options too.

Small Haul | Clinique | Lush | & an Estee Lauder Freebie

Bad photos I am afraid but light was fading & I was keen to get this post written up. I went shopping on Saturday with hubby & here is what I bought.

Clinique - Boots had their bonus time on. It has finished there now but it was supposed to stop on 17th August I believe but they were still doing it on Saturday 24th so worth checking if they still have some. Check out your local John Lewis though because theirs runs until 8th September.

My 2 item i bought were:-

Moisture Surge CC Cream Hydrating Colour Correction Broad Spectrum SPF 30 - I have this in medium. I was matched to mine & came away with a small sample pot a while ago but have only just got the money together to actually buy a full tube.

Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion+ - 50 ml tube. I have not used it since they changed the formula. I love it usually so I am interested to see the difference if there is any.

Check out the Facebook page HERE for a better photo of what was included in the free gift. I love the double ended lip gloss & mascara. How fantastic for a bag on a night out. I can't wait to try out the nail polish. I have another pot of my eye cream ( love it,) probably won't use the jar of Moisture Surge.

Next stop was LUSH -

I was not meant to be buying anymore shower gels for the time being but I do like this one & I don't get to LUSH shops very often so bought it whilst I was there.

Dirty Springwash shower gel. I got the 250ml although I do think maybe next time I should keep the bottle & buy the bigger size to pour into it. I love this though. When I 1st bought it I was unsure but it has a fragrance that always grew on me very quickly. Subtle but lasts for ages.

Lip Scrub - I got a new pot of the Mint Julip as my other one is almost gone now & then as I have yet to try it I picked up the Bubblegum one as well.

Lastly I also went to the Estee Lauder  in Boots as I had a voucher from my advantage card for a free sample of the

Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara in Black (01)It's a 2.8ml sample & I love this size as they are always perfect to go away with.

So very pleased indeed with my little haul. Thank you for taking the time to read it. Let me know if you have used any of these things & your thoughts on them.

August 2013 Beauty Favourites

It's that time again for the monthly favorites. There is not many as I think some of these are crossed over from July too because that is how much I love them & 2 of them are from my project pan too so I am trying to stick to stuff that is included in that.

Oh & I know I said that I would include all favourites not just beauty but quite frankly there is nothing for the non beauty this month & I am not going to choose things for the sake of it.

Urban Decay Naked 2 eye-shadow palette - do I really need to say much about this? There can't be anyone left in the beauty world who is not aware them.
A few people do not like this one as much as Naked 1. I don't actually own the 1st one so I cannot really compare them. I do however love this palette very much. I have reached for this several times this month & can see me doing so for the foreseeable future too. My favourites right now are bootycall & suspect.

Superdrug Body Butter in Cranberry & Pomegranate - One of my items in my project pan & I am loving it. It smells divine like angel delight desserts or similar. It sinks in really well so no feeling sticky for ages afterwards just this lovely aroma!! Right now they are buy one get one fee at Superdrug so get there make the most of it. I am not allowed as I have so many body butters in my drawer right now.

Garnier BB cream in Light - sorry, another item included last month & also another PP thing. I still love it as I use it in place of a liquid foundation throughout the warmer months. I only need to touch up in places with concealer & set with a powder & it looks great for hours at a time. When it is gone I will buy it but not in any hurry as I have an MUA one to use as well & some CC creams as well.

Lush Lip Scrub in Mint Julip - last one that was in last months ( I promise to try & make them a bit more varied for future.) It really helps keep my lips in great condition. I only use it in the evening as I use the Clinique all about lips for day time. I am still waiting to go to my nearest store & pick up another one... or has anyone a recommendation for another I should try??

Maybelline Superstay 24 Dual Ended Lipstick in Rose Dust - whilst a Maybelline lipstick appeared in last months favourite this month i have a new favourite shade. I tend to choose colours very similar as I don't think anything too bright suits me at all. Maybe I need to be more daring though. But for now I am loving these more subtle shades of pinks. As you know also I need a lipstick that I am not going to have to reapply as with children I don't have time for that. I like to pop my make-up on in the morning & no I am not going to have to maintain it all day long. These are just perfect for that.

Inside my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette.

Thank you for reading. Tell me your favourites. Let me know if you have used theses items mentioned & your thoughts on them.
I am always on the look out for a lipsticks that last for a while so any recommendations welcome.

Product Empties | Part 3 | Everything else

So here we have the final installment of my product empties. This is everything else so includes skin care & miscellaneous stuff.

Photo 1- back row

Boots Conditioning Nail Polish Remover - I don't think as these sort of things go there is much between them really. I do like this one though & at the price it is always worth buying again. Removed most nail polishes with ease , mainly being the glittery ones that took a little more effort. Yes to buying again when I have used up my current one.

Strictly Professional Cosmetic Brush Cleaner - I get this from Amazon but you can get from eBay too & probably other place as well. Quite pleased with it. I have already got another started as I think it does a good job of spot cleaning my brushes which I do each use so that I don't have to deep clean more. Thumbs up from me definitely.

Caudalie Make-Up Remover Cleansing Water - A 50ml bottle I got in a gift set. Smells divine with a subtle aroma of Organic grape water & Camomile. I used this for removing my eye make-up only. It did a fab job & I will buy this again once I have used my latest eye make-up remover.

front row

Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for eyes - this was a 3.5 ml sample I got with a beauty box. I don't have much to say about it. I don't think it did anything for me personally. Certainly not enough for me to rush out & buy the full size at £57!!

Olay Anti-Wrinkle Firm & Lift Day Cream - has spf of 15. given to me by a friend who did not get on with. I used to use Olay all the time but stopped a few years ago as I fell in love with the Clinique range instead. I don't think this did much at all. I used it up as i did not want to throw it away. Would not bother buying again as I think there are so much better ones out there.

Clinique All About Eyes-  I LOVE THIS!!! I have repurchased in the past as I think it is fantastic. I have just used up this last sample pot I had so this is on my list after I have used up the eye cream I am using right now. 10/10!!!

Now for photo 2

Cotton pads. A mixture from Lidl & Superdrug. I have been buying the microfibre ones from Lidl for ages. At just 89p ( I think) for a pack of 120 they really are not bad at all. I go through a ton of cotton wool products so tbh the cheaper the better.

Montagne Jeunesse Face Masks - These can be bought from most drugstores I think these days. 99p each or less In a deal. I use a lot of these. Both of these had really nice scent to them. Did not like the Blemish Mud one though as I don't think it did anything. The Strawberry Souffle one though not only made me want to eat it ( I didn't in case you wondered) but my face felt gorgeous for ages afterwards!

Mineral Flowers Hand Cream - I got this sample with an order. I didn't like it at all. It had a really old fashioned scent to it. Thankfully I only use hand cream at night so I used it up over about 2 weeks just to get rid of it. It is a shame as it did sink in nicely but I just couldn't not take the smell.

So that is my empties done for the time being. I hope you have enjoyed reading these blog posts. Don't forget this is my opinion only& that you may not agree with me. Let me know if you have used any of these products & your thoughts on them too.

Bye for now

Product Empties | Part 2 | Body & Perfume

 Bath & Shower

Original Source- Orange & Cinnamon shower Cream ( Seasonal Editions). Just No. Not for me. Hated the scent of this so whilst it was nice to actually apply & the fragrance lasted all day it meant that  I was left day long with it. Great for those that love the scent but not for me at all. Give me the mint one any day over this!

Nivea - Shower cream. This was a little bottle that came with a gift set. Yes was OK. Would not buy the full sized one of this because I prefer so many other shower gels but this little bottle is ideal for you travel bag.

Deodorants etc.

Dove- Pure Deodorant. Contains NO fragrance, NO Parabens, NO Colorants & NO alcohol. To take the words from Grumpy Cat ( if I may ) I hated it!!!Whilst there is no scent to speak of it still gave off an aroma on spraying that seemed to lodge in my throat all day long. I never expected it to really work for 48 hours either but I don't think this was very good at all.I love Dove deodorants so was disappointed with this one.

Boots Natural Collection Body Spray -Passion Fruit. Loved this even though I had to spray several items throughout the day because the scent did not last long. However at just £1.99 a bottle or less if there is an offer on I would definitely buy this again. Oh & you get advantage points, not many admittedly but over time they add up!!

Estee Lauder Beautiful - Eau de Parfum. Well this was as it says on the bottle & beautiful. Loved it , sad to see it empty but won't buy again for the time being as I have so many perfumes already to use.

Thank you for reading. See you soon for the 3rd & final part.
