Smarties Cookies
Recipe
100g/4oz butter, softened

100g/4oz light muscovado sugar
1 tbsp golden syrup
150g/6oz self-raising flour
85g/30z Smarties ( around 3 tubes)
Takes 20 minutes. Makes 14 although I would probably have made them slightly smaller & made a few more if I do them again.
1- Preheat oven to 180oC /Gas 4/fan oven 160oC. Beat butter & sugar together until light & creamy. Then add the syrup.

2- Work in half the flour. Next stir in the smarties with the rest of flour& work into a dough with your fingers ( yay we love mess!) Divide into 14 balls & do NOT flatten them.
3- Bake for 12 minutes until pale golden at the edges. Cool before serving.
These can be kept in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Will they really last that long? I doubt that very much!
Next time I would keep a few smarties back to add to the top as you cannot really see them now but I promise thy are there!
