Keeping Healthy Update 2 - March 2015

Another month has passed since I got back on the healthy trail & I have been much more positive with it this month.

Starting with the diet side of things. Whilst i could probably improve things slightly - weekends are now my biggest downfall - I am still either under my calorie allowance or at least not over by very much at all. I am happy with the way things are in that respect, although maybe I could have a bit more fruit instead of those healthy cereal bars as it is surprising how much rubbish they can still contain.

Exercise is going very well. I now play badminton once a week with a friend & I started at an Aerobics class 2 weeks ago - only been once though as the 2nd week I was ill - with another friend. Along with the stuff I do at home either on the Wii or the PC via You Tube as well as dog walks lasting anything from 30 mins to an hour probably 2/3 times a week too. With the weather getting better I can see myself doing the longer walks much more too.

In the past 4 weeks I have lost 3LBs. Not a huge amount but in the right direction so I am happy.

All told then I am very pleased with how this month has gone. I am hoping I can continue to do as well. I know there will be weeks when it won't go so well but knowing that I am doing something & seeing results , however small,is the best feeling in the world.

See you next month for another update x

Wicked Wednesday - In The Picture

My 4 year old is really coming along in the drawing department. Mummy is muchly proud of his "people" being an arty sort herself.
I do wish though he would use some colour though!!!

This is me - well the hair def looks like me 1st thing in the morning - uncanny.

This  is Old Mother Hubbard from Squiggle It or whatever its called. I can vouch for the likeness.

No idea who these are although that top one could be Finley's' interpretation of Edvard Munch's "The Scream."

You can join in with the fabulous #wickedwednesday too.

Count Your Lucky Stars - March 17th ,2015 - Lucky To Be Here.

This month I have decided to link up with Kerri- Ann ( Life As Our Little Family ) & Sian ( Potty Mouthed Mummy) for this months Count Your Lucky Stars.

4 years ago ( this coming weekend to be exact) I had an operation that would change my life ,for the best hopefully forever. I have had Crohns Disease since I was 12 years old, although i was only diagnosed with it at 18. I was very lucky to get to 37 years of age before having any surgery but despite a very tough time for ages after my op I have finally accepted what was always the best thing for me.

I now have a stoma - please feel free to read this post with photos of my stoma bag if you wish...! At the time I was not very thankful but now despite the odd bad day or 3 I know how much better my quality of life is.

My youngest son was 7 months when I was taken to hospital & it was scary to wonder if this would be the last time I would see my children.

I know this is quite a serious one for a 1st posting but this just proves more how much I must count the blessings how lucky I really am to continue to watch these 2 Monkeys grow,

Why don't you join in too & tell us what you are thankful for?

Thank you for reading.

Outfits Of The Past Week

Here is what I have been wearing this week.

Despite the more spring like weather I have still been sticking mainly to boots on my feet. In the 1st picture I am wearing my new H&M jeggings in dark green.

I adore my camel cardigan from Next so much I ordered the grey too. Still wearing boots ....

Saturday I was helping at the school disco. I did take my camel Next cardigan to cover up with for walk to & fro but my top was very much in mind of how hot I would get whilst serving in the tuck shop. Then finally on Sunday I braved the weather more. I did have to come home after doing what I needed to & pop some leggings on underneath - seriously when I started the day I was boiling in what was a lovely day. 2 hours later it was grey & chilly again.

Anyway that's all from me today!

See you soon, Love Amanda x

February Purchases

I was lucky once again to find myself with some retail therapy time on Saturday. Just lil ole me on my own & despite what was a very wet day - not helped buy forgetting to pop your coat in the car & not even possessing an umbrella either - I had a jolly good time.

Here is what I came home with.

Starting with H&M ...

I really love the jeggings range at H&M. Not only are they really comfy but at £12.99 a bargain too. Today i went for these in Dark Green but they do several other colours too.

Superstretch Treggings - £12.99
Me not modelling the Superstretch Treggings as well as the model on the website.

I also adore their basic knitwear range. Always room for more in my wardrobe.
Fine Knit Cardigan - £9.99.

I then headed to Debenhams. There was 20% bags ( not sure how long this runs for I'm afraid) & so I thought i would see what was there. I actually ummed & ahhed over this bag so went & had a coffee to mull it over. In the end I really could not resist & home it came with me - it was the only one on the rack & it was still there when I got... I'm not the only one who would see this as a sign surely?
Fiorelli Tan Medium Grab Bag- Usually £55 but £44 with the 20% off.
neither photo shows the actual colour. Its much darker than my own pic but not as orange as their photo shows.

Also 20% off jewellry. I don't really need necklaces of this colours as have loads but I don't earrings ....
Necklace / Earrings || Butterfly by Matthew Williamson Usually £15 I paid £12. Sorry I can't find the link.

Perfume was another thing I was looking for as I am now down to just one bottle by Chloe so wanted to add another one. I tried loads but this one from DNKY stood out the most...although this one by Thierry Muglar came in at 2nd place so I may have to invest in that too some other time.
DKNY Delicious Delights Dreamsicle Eau De Toilette. 10% off the full price.

I can never quite resist Primark. Found these highwaisted jeans & they are almost a really good fit. At £13 I am very pleased , although of course test of time will tell how good they really are.
They are really comfy.

I got another necklace...
A bargain at £1.50!

Last stop was M&S. i am not a fan of the flares as I think they look awful on me but I wanted to try the look on a smaller scale. The boot cut is an old favourite of mine & these fit me so well. I always seem to get on very well with M&S jeans.
Indigo Slim Bootleg Denim Jeans. or in Indigo
I can't remember if I got the dark indigo or normal indigo... my age, sorry!

It was only when I go home though that I realised I had not taken any photos to show you of other things I liked but did not try on. I am a failure as a fashion blogger...!

Anyway we have now come to the end.

Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Weekly Round Up ( Ending 01/03/15)

Here I am for another round up of my week.

Really upping my fitness this last couple of weeks with last week being the best yet.

Being able to do a few things at home is great. BeFit on YouTube is great as well as the Fitness Coach for the Wii.
Just this week my friend & went for our 1st Badminton game - it was a huge amount of fun & as exhausted as I was , I felt so much better for it. Back this week for another game too.

Aside form fitness it has actually been a quieter week really.
Myself & Clara went for a walk with my friend & her dog. As you can see Phoebe is slightly bigger (hehe) & little Clara was terrified to begin with ( this was their 1st meeting.) but was warming to her by the end - as she should as Phoebe is a beautiful dog.
Rob & I went to see Milton Jones on Thursday evening. I bought the tickets for Rob for Xmas as like most men he is a flipping nightmare to buy for. It was a great evening.
Saturday I got to go shopping all on my own which was fab. I started the shopping trip as I always do - in a coffee shop establishment with a good book!
Finley got a certificate this week. They all get one at some point in the school year & they give them out during Friday assembly. Very proud moment - Fin was pleased as punch!
New bag - details will be on tomorrows February purchases post.
A recent read was Sanctum by Denise Mina. A really good read.
Lastly, what I was wearing.

New boots from Primark in photo 1. At £6 they were quite a bargain - time will tell how long they last.
The 3rd photo is what I wore to the theatre on Thursday.

Middle picture was for going shopping & Sunday I am sporting the new bag!

Thanks for reading. Come back tomorrow for my haul post.
